The standout role-playing game from Sandfall Interactive won the esteemed Game of the Year award, along with prizes for Best Storytelling and Top Visual Design. Adding to the developer's triumph, the gifted actors also were honored with personal awards. Jennifer English was named Outstanding Lead Performance for her portrayal as Maelle, while Ben Starr won Supporting Performance Award for his role as Verso. Moreover, Sandfall Interactive itself received Studio of the Year. Overall, Clair Obscur and its developers collected seven awards throughout the show. Additional major winners featured Ghost of Yōtei, which received Outstanding Audio and Best Console Game, and Hollow Knight: Silksong, winning Best Indie Game (Self-Published) and PC Game of the Year. Worth mentioning, the majority of Golden Joystick Awards are voted on by the public, with only four special—Critics Choice, Rising Star, Lifetime Achievement, and Streamers’ Choice—judged by critics.
